SANDESTIN, Fla. — Sophia Morettini finished T81 and Elizabeth Powell finished T87 to lead the Oglethorpe women’s golf team to 24th place overall at the Golfweek Fall Invitational. The event took place Monday and Tuesday at The Links Course and featured a field heavy with the nation’s top programs.
Morettini and Powell both had strong finishes to move up four and eight spots, respectively, over the last 18 holes after shooting 78 and 77 on Tuesday.
Abrianna Carstens also finished in the top 100 at T94 overall after opening the tournament with back-to-back 79’s on Monday. Lexi Sinutko rounded out Oglethorpe’s scoring in 116th individually with her best round of the tournament to close out the event on Tuesday.
Tournament Notes
- Carstens led the field on the par 3 scoring at 5 under par. This was two strokes better than anyone else in the field and brought her scoring average on the par 3’s to 2.58.
- Carstens posted eight birdies in total, ranking in the top 15. Powell had six birdies.
- Morettini posted 31 pars while Powell had 30 pars.

Oglethorpe heads to the Chick-fil-A Invitational Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 28-29. The event will take place at Stonebridge Golf Club and will wrap the fall slate for the Stormy Petrels.
