ATLANTA, Ga. – Oglethorpe sophomore Ryan Dunn has been named Southern Athletic Association athlete of the week after his 3 under par finish at the Savannah Invitational.
Dunn opened the spring season with a fourth-place finish (71-68-74). He was only two strokes out of second place and five strokes off the lead. He posted his best round on the first day, ending with a 4 under 68. This included six birdies and a stretch of 4 under from holes 8 through 13. Another highlight from Savannah was an eagle on the par 5 11th hole on day two.
Dunn and Berry’s Noah Farland, co-winners of this week’s award, recorded the same score at the same event. This is the second athlete of the week award of Dunn’s career.
Up next, Dunn and the Stormy Petrels will host the Jekyll Island Invitational on Friday-Sunday, March 21-23.
