BATON ROUGE, La. — The No. 6-ranked Georgia men’s golf team placed 10th on Sunday in the LSU Invitational.
The Bulldogs posted a final-round 14-over 302 on the University Club’s par-72, 7,227-yard layout to land at 35-over 899. Team honors went to Illinois with a 12-over 876, two shots better than Vanderbilt, and five clear of South Carolina.
Fifth-year Spencer Ralston and senior Davis Thompson paced the Bulldogs on Sunday as they posted 1-over 73s. Junior Trent Phillips added a 5-over 77, followed by sophomore Connor Creasy at 7-over 79. Sophomore Nicolas Cassidy had Georgia’s non-counting score of 9-over 81.
Phillips finished seventh individually at 3-over 219, giving him the 16th top 10 and the 21st top 20 of his Georgia career. Medalist honors went to Jackson Suber of Ole Miss as he wound up at 5-under 211.
Thompson finished at 7-over 223, followed by Ralston at 12-over 228, Creasy at 15-over 231, and Cassidy at 24-over 240.
The Bulldogs will return to action March 15-17 in the Tiger Invitational in Opelika, Ala.
