The team of Robby Watson and Scott Parel made 17 birdies and an eagle over 36 holes to capture the Traynor Golf Collection/Mizuno Pro-Pro Championship presented Perry Golf, which was contested at the Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside and Plantation courses. The duo fired an eight-under par 62 on the Seaside course today to go along with a first round 11-under par 61 on the Plantation course to finish the championship at 19-under par, 123.
Watson is the head PGA professional at Bartram Trail in Evans, and Parel, from Augusta, plays professionally on the Web.com Tour, winning his first tournament back in June at the Air Capital Classic in Wichita, Kansas.
The team of Drew Pittman, head PGA professional at Hackers Golf Park in Statesboro and Paul Claxton of Sea Island who plays professionally on the Web.com Tour fired a tournament total of 17-under par 125 to finish alone in second place for the fourth consecutive year.
The duo of Scott Curiel and Billy Jack finished alone in third place at 15-under par 127. Curiel is the PGA director of golf at The Standard Club in Johns Creek, while Jack is the PGA head professional at St. Ives CC also in Johns Creek.
In the Senior Division, PGA professionals Scott Hare of Collins Hill GC in Lawrenceville and Gordon McIntire of Mystery Valley GC in Lithonia carded a two-day total of nine-under par 133 to capture the title. It marked the first professional win for McIntire.
