Eatonton, GA – Recently, the PGA of America, Georgia Section, honored its most distinguished members at their annual awards ceremony held at the 755 Club at Turner Field Stadium in Atlanta. Among those recognized was Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee’s Director of Instruction, John Tillery, who received the 2015 Teacher of the Year award.
Tillery’s work with youth golf programs, several PGA Tour players, and numerous web.com, mini tour, and collegiate players has steered his passion to help lead his players to college scholarships, professional wins, and nearly $20 million dollars in PGA Tour earnings, thus, making him a prime candidate for the Teacher of the Year award. In his most recent venture with the Cuscowilla Golf Academy, Tillery launches the new Junior Golf Program at Cuscowilla this month where he and his team have designed a program to teach kids the game and develop them as players as they progress through the program, as well as cultivate long term athletic development.
