ROME, Ga. — Elizabeth Powell and Abrianna Carstens finished in the top 30, and the Oglethorpe women’s golf program nabbed a top-10 finish at the Chick-fil-A Invitational Tuesday at Stonebridge Golf Club. The event marked the end to the Stormy Petrels’ fall campaign.
Powell landed one spot out of the top 25 at 26th overall, moving up two spots after Monday’s opening round. Carstens was three strokes and three places back of that at 29th overall.
Comprising the rest of Oglethorpe’s lineup were Morgan McKenzie in 44th, Alexis Sinutko in 55th and Sophia Morettini in 57th. Oglethorpe’s B team also finished in the mix, with Katie Sulko and Grace Daech taking 51st to lead the way.
Up next, Oglethorpe continues the season in the spring, starting with the South Georgia Invitational Monday-Tuesday, March 10-11, in Statesboro, Georgia. It will be the first of three events in the spring prior to the Southern Athletic Association Championships.
