JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA —Augusta University alumnus Ryan van der Klis notched his first professional victory by winning the Betway Big Easy Tour 10 event in his home country of South Africa.
Van der Klis fired a final round 66 and finished at -12, good enough for a one-stroke victory. His final round featured six birdies, good enough for the win. He opened the tournament with a 69 and posted another 69 in the second round, putting him in position to battle for the win.
During his time with the Jaguars, van der Klis made an impact and as a graduate student, was named to the 2024 Southland All-Conference first team. He posted a stroke average of 71 with an 18th place finish in the NCAA Stanford regional. He was also third in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. He posted five top 10 finishes on the year.
