INNISBROOK, Fla. – The Georgia College Golf squad wrapped up the fall season Tuesday, taking 16th place at the Copperhead Championship, hosted by the University of West Georgia, the toughest field the Bobcats have faced this season.
The Bobcats carded rounds of 292 and a pair of 304s to finish plus-48 on the par-71, 7,209-yard Innisbrook Resort-Copperhead Course.
For the first time in his career, sophomore Bailey Scifleet (Canberra, Australia) led the Bobcats, finishing 49th in a field of 90 golfers. Scifleet finished 11-over after rounds of 75, 74 and 75. His final round score was the team’s low.
Taking second on the squad and 54th overall was junior Daniel Davis (Columbus, Georgia) taking rounds of 73, 76 and 76 for 12-over. Senior Drew Duffie (Evans, Georgia) was at 14-over, owning a Bobcat tournament-low 72 in the opening round and a 78 and 77 afterward.
Freshman Michael Zachary (Johns Creek, Georgia) tied Duffie for that first-round low with a 72, and added an 83 and 76 to finish 18-over in 70th place. Junior Alex Wells (Evans, Georgia) posted rounds of 79, 76 and 77, finishing 76th at 19-over.
