ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia junior Spencer Ralston has been invited to participate in the 2018 Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic Nov. 18-20 at the El Paso Country Club in Texas.
The Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic will open with the Titleist long drive and PING putting contests on Nov. 18. The first and second rounds of stroke play are slated for Nov. 19, followed by the third round on Nov. 20. The Lee Trevino Trophy will be presented to the winner of the event.
To make the field, a player must have been an All-American in 2017-18, have won the U.S. Amateur, be a member of the U.S. Walker Cup Team, be in the top 100 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, or have won the 2017 Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic.
Ralston was picked as an Honorable Mention All-American by PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America and by Golfweek Magazine following last season.
For 2017-18, Ralston earned the Dick Copas Award with a team-best scoring average of 70.86. He came in a career-best second in the Crooked Stick Invitational and the Linger Longer Invitational and had seven top-10s in 12 tournaments. His 7-under 65 round and 12-under 204 total at the Linger Longer Invitational were career bests.
Ralston, who has not missed a tournament in his Georgia career, is currently in Hawaii with his teammates for the Ka‘anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational.
