KENNESAW, Ga. – Junior Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres has been named the ASUN Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday (March 8). It marks his second career player of the week honor.
Torres turned in a solid performance at the 17-team Tiger Invitational that concluded on Tuesday. The KSU junior opened the event with a career-best par-72 score of 6-under par 66 to take the first-round lead. He followed with rounds of 76 and 68 to finish with 6-under par total of 210 and tie for sixth place.
In a field that included No. 9 Auburn and No. 31 Missouri, Torres finished ahead of three players ranked in Golfstat’s top 40, including Missouri’s Hayden Buckley, who is ranked No. 9. This week’s effort improved his scoring average to 72.85 in 20 rounds and represented his third top 10 showing during the 2017-18 season.
Kennesaw State is back in action on Monday when it competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Championships hosted by the University of Georgia at Athens Country Club.
