DOTHAN, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men’s golf team finished in sixth place after the final round of 2024 Atlantic Sun Men’s Golf Championship at the RTJ Golf Trail at Highland Oaks.
“This week we just didn’t have the depth to contend,” head Coach Bryant Odom said. “The team fought hard each day and finished on a high note. Hugo finished his college career with a birdie and an under-par round. Kyle put on a ball striking display this week for a top 12 finish. Claes battled into contention early in the round and finished with a birdie for a top five and likely secured a regional bid based on his overall yearly ranking. I’m extremely excited for the direction of this program and I know the team will come back in the fall ready for more wins.”
The Owls carded a 1-over par 289 and finished at 16-over par 880. Lipscomb won the event at 16-under par 848.
Claes Borregaard paced the Owls on Tuesday with his second consecutive 2-under par round of 70. It was his 17th round at par or better this season. The junior tied for fifth at 1-under 215. He made 10 pars and four birdies and an eagle during the final round.
Kyle Bachkosky played his final eight holes at 4-under par to card an even-par round of 72. He tied for 19th at 3-over par 147.
Hugo Lari shot 3-under par 33 over his final nine holes to post a 1-under par round of 71. Lari finished tied for 21st at 5-over par 221. The senior recorded 16 rounds at par or better in his final season in an Owl uniform.
Shaun Cook tied for 42nd at 12-over par 228.
Hunter Gillard finished 57th.
KSU closed the 2023-24 season with three wins and nine top 10 finishes.
The Owls return to action in the fall of 2024 as members of Conference USA.
