Semi-Private, 229-247-2527
4300 Coleman Road, Valdosta, GA 31602
For the better part of seventy years, the area that is now known as the Stone Creek Golf Community was operated as a purebred cattle ranch by H. Young Tillman, Jr. When clients would come to purchase cattle, they would often remark, “This would make a great golf course!” Now that dream has become a reality, and we have to agree, it’s a great golf course. Winding in a figure eight fashion through over 700 acres of pristine woodlands and gently rolling meadows, the Stone Creek course is a semi-private eighteen-hole championship course that plays 6707 total yards.
Unlike most golf courses found in South Georgia, Stone Creek is unique as each hole has a character all it’s own. From the Scottish links look of the twelfth fairway to the third hole par five that plays over the old beaver pond, new surprises and challenges await the golfer on each tee at Stone Creek.
Stone Creek opened in October 1992; many first time players of the course are shocked to learn of its relative youth after playing on such lush fairways and well kept greens.
One of the difficulties in designing a golf course is making it great for everyone. The expert wants a challenge, others don’t want to work too hard, and young golfers need to be encouraged. We hope that by providing four sets of tees, well defined fairways, and generous greens we’ve created a great golfing experience for everyone.
