ATLANTA, GA, March 4, 2013 — Two State Park Golf Course employees have won awards from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Awards were presented during a recent conference co-hosted by the park system and Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites.
Todd Voyles of Highland Walk near Lavonia received Golf Course Manager of the Year, while Billy Rousey from Arrowhead Pointe near Elberton received the Golf Course Superintendent of the Year.
According to the state’s golf course operations manager, Arnie Page, Voyles was nominated for “his willingness to think outside the box.” He has attended local fairs and increased corporate outings, while also growing a junior golfer program. Rousey was chosen for his hard work and dedication in maintaining first Highland Walk, then Arrowhead Pointe after being named acting superintendent.
