FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Sophomores Spencer Ralston and Trevor Phillips registered top-7 individual finishes on Sunday to highlight Georgia’s showing in the Mason Rudolph Championship.
Playing the Vanderbilt Legends Club’s South Course (par 71, 7,100 yards), Ralston came in fourth at even-par 213 and Phillips took seventh at 2-over 215. Ralston registered his fourth consecutive top-6 finish of the spring and he is 18-under in those four events. Phillips capped the Mason Rudolph Championship with a career-best-matching 5-under 66 on Sunday. Medalist honors went to Vanderbilt’s John Augenstein (205).
As a team, the Bulldogs came in fifth at 31-over 883, including Sunday’s 8-over 292. Vanderbilt took first at 852, followed by Alabama (856) and Liberty (862).
Phillips paced the Bulldogs on Sunday with his 66, followed by Ralston at 2-over 73, freshman Davis Thompson at 3-over 74 and sophomore Will Chandler at 8-over 79. Senior Zach Healy had Georgia’s non-counting score of 9-over 80. Thompson landed at 11-over 224, followed by Healy at 21-over 234 and Chandler at 24-over 237.
The Bulldogs will open postseason play April 25-29 in the SEC Championship on St. Simons Island. The NCAA Regionals are slated for May 14-16 and the NCAA Championships will be May 25-30.?
