The No. 14 Georgia College golf team shot a final round 285 Tuesday, finishing plus-22 in a tie for eighth place at the Matlock Invitational, hosted by No. 4 Florida Southern College (FSC). The final round 285 was the third -best score of the round, and was combined with rounds of 304 and 297 from Monday.
The Bobcats tied with Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe Lander University, just one stroke behind Valdosta State University, and one ahead of PBC member No. 17 Armstrong Atlantic at the Lone Palm Golf Club course in Lakeland, Fla.
Senior All-American Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ga.) led the Bobcats with a score of 221, good for 25th overall. Freshman Austin Glover (Johns Creek, Ga.) was just one stroke behind Smith in 31st place in his first career start for the Bobcats.
