AUGUSTA, G.A. – Columbus State University women’s golfer Courtney Lowery and men’s golfer Robert Mize were each named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team, announced by the league office on Friday, April 10th, 2015.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Sophomore Courtney Lowery is in the midst of a successful season, winning her first individual title at the Point University Skyhawk Invitational on March 10, 2015. The LaGrange, G.A. native has finished in the top 10 individually in five of her 10 tournaments. Lowery currently boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA in Exercise Science.
Redshirt junior Robert Mize has finished in the top 20 in five of nine tournaments this season. The hometown standout tied for second at the Southeastern Collegiate on March 10 and tied for third at the season-opening Saint Leo Invitational on September 23. Mize sports a 3.58 GPA in Finance.
The Columbus State men’s and women’s golf teams will compete at the Peach Belt Conference Championship on April 17-19, 2015 at the Greenwood Country Club in Greenwood, S.C.
