SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – With three players shooting in the 60’s for a second-straight day, the Georgia State men’s golf team shot a 4-under par 276 on Sunday at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate at Mirabel Golf Club to finish in 13th place.
Sophomore Elliot Anger led the Panthers with a 2-under 68 and finished at even par, tied for 52nd. Sophomore Maxence Mugnier and freshman Jordan Jung each shot 69 on Sunday. Jung finished at 1-over par and tied for 58th, while Mugnier tied for 64th at 2-over par.
Georgia State, which was hosting the event 2,000 miles from home, finished the 54-hole, three-day event at 3-under par and in 13th-place. The Panthers were within three strokes of Alabama, New Mexico, and Cal.
Georgia Tech shot a final round 10-under par 270 to finish at 44-under par and earned a one-stroke win over Clemson. Auburn’s J.M. Butler earned low medalist honors at 17-under par, earning a one-stroke win over Georgia Tech’s Christo Lamprecht.
