CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Led by top 25 finishes from seniors Josh Edgar and Ashton Poole, the Georgia State men’s golf team finished in a tie for ninth on Tuesday at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at the UNC Finley Golf Course.
Both Edgar and Poole shot final round scores of 71, as Edgar tied for 15th at 1-under par for the 54-hole event, while Poole tied for 22nd at 3-over par.
The Panthers shot a final round 1-over 289 to tie with Virginia Tech. The 1-over par round was tied for the fifth-lowest team score of the day.
Host No. 17 North Carolina won the tournament at 28-under par, earning an 18-stroke victory over Campbell. Tar Heel Peter Fountain, who is ranked No. 56 in the country, earned low medalist honors at 15-under par.
