NORTH PLAINS, Ore. — The Georgia men’s golf team placed 14th on Tuesday in the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
Playing the par-71, 7,017-yard layout on the Witch Hollow course, the Bulldogs fired an 11-over 295 in the final round to wind up at 25-over 877. Team honors went to Oklahoma at 27-under 825, while Stanford took second in 24-under 828.
Sophomore Trevor Phillips paced the Bulldogs on Tuesday with a 5-under 66 to land 14th at 5-under 208. The sophomore’s place, third-round score and overall tally marked career bests. Medalist honors went to Oregon’s Norman Xiong at 13-under 200.
Sophomore Spencer Ralston signed for a 1-under 70 on Tuesday, followed by freshman John Hilliard Catanzaro at 4-over 75 and sophomore Will Chandler at 5-over 76. Freshman Davis Thompson had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 7-over 78.
Ralston finished at even-par 213, followed by Thompson at 12-over 225, Chandler at 14-over 227 and Catanzaro at 16-over 229.
The Bulldogs will return to action Oct. 16-17 in the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate in Carmel, Ind.
