ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia women’s golf team took home second place at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Wednesday behind a runner-up performance by sophomore Celine Brovold Sanne.

· Georgia finished with a team score of 890, posting a 306 in Wednesday’s final round to finish +26 over 54 holes. With their second-place performance, the Bulldogs recorded their best team finish of the season.
· Brovold Sanne tied for second individually at 1-over par (217) over 54 holes. She posted an even-par 72 in the final round to lead Georgia on day two of competition, scoring her best finish of the season and second top-10 performance of the season. The sophomore posted pars on seven-straight holes on the front nine before shooting par-or-better on the final nine holes, including birdies on holes 12 and 14.
· In the final home tournament of her career, senior Kate Song finished tied for 11th with a 223. Her 78 ranked second among Bulldogs in the final round and included birdies on holes 7 and 17.
· Graduate student Chantal El Chaib earned her fifth top-20 finish of the season, placing 15th with an eight-over 224. She concluded her final home tournament with a 78 in the final round, posting a birdie on hole 5 and pars on seven of the final nine holes.
· Morgan Smith and Grace Frei also carded 78s in round three, with Smith sinking birdies on holes 12, 17, and 18 and Frei posting one of her own on hole 6. Smith (+14) and Frei (+18) finished in ties for 36th and 46th, respectively, while Zixin “Candice” Lou placed 64th while competing individually.

“To finish runner-up is a solid testament to the grit in this team, and we are proud of their effort,” head coach Erika Brennan said. “We left some out there today, which we’ll use as fuel as we push into the SEC Championship. Big congrats to Celine for a gutsy individual runner-up finish. She was so solid from start to finish.”

Georgia will head to Belleair, Fla., for the Southeastern Conference Championship on April 14-18. The tournament will be held at Pelican Golf Club, with stroke play taking place from April 14-16 followed by match play on April 17-18.
