Bo Andrews fired a final-round 66 (6-under-par) Tuesday and surged into a tie for medalist honors at the Gary Koch Invitational, while 8th-ranked Georgia Tech finished second in the event for the second straight year.
Andrews, a junior from Raleigh, N.C., earned his first collegiate victory by posting his best round of the year and matched his career low score set last year in the first round of the ACC Championship. He completed 54 holes with a 9-under-par score of 207.
The Yellow Jackets wound up with a tournament total of 848 (-16), their best 54-hole score this year. Four Yellow Jackets finished among the top 20 players. Anders Albertson tied for sixth place at 4-under-par 212, freshman Shun Yat Hak finished with a 3-under-par total of 213, and Ollie Schniederjans tied for 16th at even-par 216.
Tech is back in action Saturday when it takes on South Carolina in a dual match at East Lake Golf Club.
