JACKSONVILLE, Fl – Ariana Macioce shot 75-73-74=222 to tie for 13th, and the Georgia Southern women’s golf team placed 10th at the Jacksonville Classic, which concluded Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 at Marsh Landing Country Club.
Georgia Southern (+47) finished 10 strokes behind Georgia State (+37) in sixth and three back of Jacksonville State in ninth (+44).
It was the fourth top-20 career finish for Macioce. Lauren Coe shot 73-78-75=226 to tie for 28th, and Ella Ofstedahl shot 77-75-79=231. Iben Hvass carded a 78-79-75=232, and Yeji Shin posted a 78-81-79=238.
The story
Coe tallied three birdies and played nine holes in the middle of her first round Monday morning 3-under to shoot 73, and Macioce played her final seven holes of the morning even par on her way to a 75,
Macioce played her final seven holes of the second round 2-under to card another 73, and Ofstedahl was even on her last eight holes to shoot a 75.
Macioce struggled a bit out of the gate in today’s third round but shot even-par on her last 13 holes to post a 74. Hvass had similar struggles to start her round but played her final 14 holes 1-over for a 75, and Coe had one of three eagles in the tournament with a 3 on the par-5 14th hole to shoot 75.
