GREENVILLE, S.C. – Senior Ines Lescudier registered her second-straight top 10 finish to lead the Kennesaw State women’s golf team at the Lady Paladin Invitational as the Owls tied for seventh in a strong 18-team field on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at the par-72, 6,266-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
“This team is so close to being exceptional,” said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. “To tie with North Carolina and be a shot from other top-15 ranked teams is a testament to just how good we are. We can and will compete with the best teams in the nation. We belong at the top of the leaderboard. This will motivate us to keep working even harder.”
The Owls posted a 14-over par total of 302 in their final round on Tuesday and concluded the tournament with a season-best 54-hole total of 893 at 29-over par.
Lescudier carded a three-over par 75 in her final round and tied for 10th with a two-over par total of 218, the lowest tournament score for the senior this season.
Senior Kaew Preamchuen moved up six spots to tie for 27th with a nine-over par total of 225 following a three-over par 75 on Tuesday, while sophomores Dulcie Sverdloff and Laura Estefenn finished in a tie for 31st with a 10-over par total of 226 after third round scores of 78 and 76, respectively, with Estefenn recording a season-low total at the tournament.
Freshman Henriette Nielsen finished her second-ever collegiate event with 19-over par total of 235.
The Owls next break for three weeks before wrapping the fall slate at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C., on October 13-14, 2014.
