KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s golf team landed three student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Claes Borregaard, Shaun Cook and Hugo Lari were recognized for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Borregaard posted 71.70 scoring average this season. The junior played in nine tournaments and 17 of his 27 rounds were played at par or better. He recorded three top-five finishes. He finished fourth at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate and fifth at the ASUN Championships. He earned a spot on the ASUN All-Tournament Team. He also earned ASUN First Team All-Conference honors. He played as an individual at the UNC Chapel Hill Regional. Borregaard has a 3.73 GPA in Sociology.
Cook played in 11 events and recorded a 72.36 scoring average. 16 of his rounds were played at par or better. The sophomore won medalist honors at the Pinetree Intercollegiate with an 11-under par total of 205. He finished runner-up at the Carolina Cup and tied for third at the Allstate Streamsong Invitational. Cook is a Finance major who maintains a 3.56 GPA.
Lari had a 72.76 scoring average with 16 rounds at par or better. He tied for eighth at the Pinetree Intercollegiate. The senior tied for 15th at the Sea Best Invitational. Lari holds a 3.73 GPA while majoring in Management
KSU won three events and posted nine top 10 finishes in 11 events during the 2023-24 season.
Kennesaw State joins Conference USA on July 1.
