ATHENS, Ga. — Despite some near perfect weather, not a single golfer registered a below par score in the final round of the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of Georgia. Three Augusta golfers wrapped up their play with Marine Legentil posting the best score of the trio who competed at the UGA Golf Club.
Legentil shot a 76 on Wednesday. She did make a birdie on the 15th hole, but was unable to add another in her round. She finished at 16-over par.
Sara Adams, who had two solid rounds on Tuesday, struggled on her final 18 holes and shot 83. She did manage a birdie on her fourth hole of the day, but too many bogies led to her score as she finished at 17-over par.
Similar to Adams, Zoe Pinillos also found it tough sledding in the final round and posted an 84. Pinillos had one birdie on the day, that coming on her ninth hole of the day.
Georgia Southern won the team portion with the host Bulldogs coming in second.
For the Jaguars, they now turn their attention to the Southland Conference tournament April 14-16 in San Antonio, Texas. It will be a 54-hole even with 18 holes each of the three days with the winner getting the automatic qualifying spot for the NCAA golf championship.
