KENNESAW, Ga. – Three golfers from the Augusta University men’s team competed in the Pinetree Intercollegiate hosted by Kennesaw State Monday and Tuesday. Behn Heyns, Mason Fundingsland and Ian Pienaar all teed it up.
It was Heyns being the low Augusta golfer for the tournament as he finished +11 for the tournament, in a tie for 15th place. Heyns, a junior from South Africa, posted scores of 73-79-75 and had three birdies on his card in the ifnal round.
Fundingsland finished in a tie for 20th while Pienaar finished up in a tie for 24th. Pienaar rebounded after struggling yesterday and posted an even par 72 on Tuesday. Three birdies and three bogeys accounted for his score on the day.
A pair of Kennesaw State golfers finished first and second in the event.
The Jaguars will next compete as a team Oct. 20-22 at the Williams Cup in Wilmington, N.C. That tournament will mark the end of their fall season.
