KENNESAW, G.A. – Sophomore Dulcie Sverdloff earned her second career Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Week and first of the season after leading the Kennesaw State women’s golf team to a sixth place showing at the Rebel Intercollegiate last weekend, the league announced on Wednesday (April 8, 2015).
“Dulcie is very deserving of this honor,” said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. “Two weeks ago she made some changes to her game and has been really working hard on these adjustments. She has had great results and I am very pleased. Her confidence is high heading into conference and I believe she will just keep getting better.”
It is the fifth A-Sun weekly honor for the Owls in 2014-15, with seniors Ines Lescudier and Kaew Preamchuen and freshman Henriette Nielsen also taking home honors earlier this season.
The Southend-on-Sea, Essex native earned her second-straight top-20 finish and fifth of the season as she tied for 15th in a field of 18 teams with a four-over par total of 220. She opened the three-day event with a one-under par 71 after sinking four birdies in her first round on Friday. She then carded a two-over par 74 on Saturday, before registering a birdie and 14 pars en route to a three-over par 75 in her final round on Sunday.
For the season, Sverdloff owns the second-lowest stroke average on the team with a 74.93 average, with her five top-20 finishes also ranking second on the team.
