WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Augusta University men’s golf team wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule with a tie for 11th place at the Williams Cup presented by STITCH Golf and hosted by North Carolina. The Jaguars had their best round of the three day tournament with a team score of 291, 12 shots better than their second round. North Carolina won the tournament at -16 with Arizona State one shot back and Auburn in third four shots off the winning score. The Tar Heels, Wildcats and Tigers were the only three schools to shoot under par for the tournament.
Stefan Jacobs had another strong showing Tuesday firing a -3 (69) and finishes in a tie for 12th at even par. Jacobs rolled in three birdies on the day and the rest were pars as he’s been one of the top AU golfers the entire fall.
Bo Blanchard II had another strong round with a -1 (71). He finishes at +3 overall in a tie for 20th place. Blanchard had three birdies and a couple of bogeys on his scorecard Tuesday afternoon. Blanchard shot rounds of 73-75-71 for his overall total.
It was another solid round for Mason Fundingsland as he was +2 on the day. Fundingsland was six shots better than on Monday. Pieter Rossouw Jr. also improved Tuesday and shot a 77 to account for the final team score in the Williams Cup.
