Harold Wyatt and Rusty Strawn posted rounds of 70 to share medalist honors and qualify for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. Michael Lee also qualified with a round of 71, the third best round on the day.

Six players were tied at 2-over-par 72, so a playoff was needed to determine the remaining spots. Dave Poteet, Joe Young, and Tyler M. McKeever all made par on the first playoff hole and qualified.

On the second playoff hole, Joe McGoogan made a bogey to secure a spot as the second alternate. Brad Hondros made a double-bogey and was eliminated while Bryan Jones and Mark Strickland each made birdie forcing a third playoff hole.

Jones was able to make a birdie and secure the final qualifying spot while Strickland made a bogey and finished as the first alternate.

This was an 18-hole qualifier held in Georgia for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship. The 36th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship will be held at Stonewall Links in Elverson, Pa., September 10-15.
