NORMAN, O.K. – Georgia Southern men’s golfer Scott Wolfes is ranked 22nd for Team USA in this week’s Palmer Cup Ranking. The top six golfers from the final ranking in the spring from both the United States and Europe shall be among the 10 individuals selected to compete in the Palmer Cup at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill., June 12-14, 2015.
Using Golfstat’s NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a negative bonus for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.
Wolfes is ranked 29th in this week’s GolfStat Player Ranking after tying for second at the Cleveland Palmetto Invitational in his last outing March 9-10. It was the 14th top-5 and 21st top-10 finish of his career, and the senior has a 70.65 stroke average in 20 rounds this season.
Wolfes and Georgia Southern are back in action this weekend at the Eagles’ home tournament, the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club. The 15-team event, featuring 10 squads ranked in the top-50 in the country, runs March 20-22.
The next Palmer Cup ranking will be released April 2, 2015.
