VALDOSTA, Ga. — Two teams share the 36-hole lead at 8-under-par 136 at the Georgia Four-Ball Tournament – Lee Gerdes of Macon and Craig Wentworth of Thomasville (68-68), and Rick Dubois and David Maddox, both of McDonough (67-69). The 28th edition of this event, which kicks off the GSGA’s centennial season, is taking place at both Kinderlou Forest Golf Club and Valdosta Country Club, April 1-3.
Bob Wilson of Johns Creek and Chris Wilson of Suwanee followed up their opening-round leading 66 with a 71 in round two for a 7-under-par 137 total, one stroke back from the leaders.
Over at Valdosta Country Club, Cameron Braig and Tyler Hogan, both of Atlanta, lead flight three at 1-under-par 143 (72-71). In the fourth flight, three teams share the top spot at 3-over-par 147, including Jerry Davis of Chickamauga/Ken Maples, Jr., of Lafayette (75-72), Roy Lichlyter of Marietta/Kevin Malone of Atlanta (74-73), and Kenneth Barrett of Atlanta/Kane Lester of Alpharetta (71-76).
The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at both Kinderlou Forest Golf Club and Valdosta Country Club.
Entries were open to two-man teams of male amateur golfers who belong to a GSGA member club and have combined USGA Handicap Indexes of 4.0 and above and a maximum differential of six strokes. The Championship through second flights are competing at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, while flights three through five play at Valdosta Country Club.
