VALDOSTA, G.A. – A pair of Valdosta State golfers, Chris Rogers and John Fordham, have been selected to play in the NCAA South/Southeast Super Region Tournament at par 72, 7,119 yard Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club South Course May 4 through 6.
Rogers, a junior from Dawson, G.A., led Valdosta State with a 74.3 strokes per round average in 11 tournaments this season. He tallied one top five, three top 10 and five top 20 finishes and saw his score count in 29 of Valdosta State’s 30 rounds on the year. Rogers tallied six rounds of par or better on the season.
Fordham, a senior, was second on the VSU squad with a 74.8 strokes per round average. He also competed in all 11 tournaments and recorded two top 10 and five top 20 finishes. The Moultrie, G.A. native led the squad with nine rounds of par or better and had his score count in 26 rounds.
Rogers and Fordham will compete as individuals in the event for the chance to advance to the NCAA Championships as the top two individuals not on an advancing team will move on to play in the Championship.
