WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Augusta University women’s golf team finished the Lady Boilermaker in third place at 36-over-par on Sunday afternoon at Ackerman-Allen Golf Course. The Jaguars had five players finish inside the top 20 and were led by freshman Nicole Page in a tie for eighth.
Round two started with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start. Texas Tech had an 11 stroke lead after day one, but No. 21 Purdue came out strong on its home course and battled throughout the final 18 holes. Texas Tech pulled ahead in the final holes and won at 8-over-par. Purdue snagged second (+16), Augusta third (+36), Northern Illinois fourth (+45), Butler fifth (+71), and Ball State sixth (+85). Texas Tech’s Gabby Barker won the tournament 3-under-par.
AU shot 24-over-par and was in third place in the small six-team field after rounds one and two on Saturday. The Jaguars carded their second best round of the event with a 300 (+12) on Sunday.
Page fired AU’s low round of the event with a 69 (-3) on Sunday to finish 6-over-par and lead team in a tie for eighth. Juniors Cecilia Diez-Moliner and Maggie Ashmore each ended 13-over-par to each tied for 13th.
Augusta sophomore Linda Lundqvist signed for 17th (+14), freshman Teresa Diez-Moliner for 18th (+15), and sophomore Charlotte Alran 21st (+18).
