AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Georgia Regents women’s golf team is ranked 11th in the nation according to BirdieFire.com and 28th by Golfstat.com after the most recent official NCAA Division I rankings came out for the 2014-15 season.
GRU Augusta just won their first tournament of the 2014-15 season on October 14th at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate GRU Augusta and now they’re eyeing down the top 10 in one poll and in the top 25 in another. Previously Birdiefire.com had the Jags ranked 18th in their October 1 poll and 16th in their October 8 poll.
The Jaguars were ranked 33rd by Golfstat.com in their last ranks, but their 19-stroke victory over the 18-team field at the LPI this past Tuesday, October 14th, 2014, secured a move towards to the top of the polls. The Jags play their last fall event of the season on October 26-28 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by Charleston Southern at Turtle Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
