FLORENCE, S.C. – The Georgia State men’s golf team was one of just three teams to break par on the final day of the Raines Company Intercollegiate on Sunday and finished in fourth place at the season opening event.
The Panthers shot a 1-under par 287 to finish the 54-hole event at 15-under par after having not competed in an event for nearly 11 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Freshman Maxence Mugnier and senior Ashton Poole led the Panthers as each tied for seventh place at 5-under par. Mugnier, one of two freshmen in the line-up, was making his collegiate debut this week.
The 10-team tournament was utilizing a Play 6-Count 4 format this week at the Country Club of South Carolina.
