Columbus, G.A. – For the first time in her two-year career, Columbus State University women’s golfer Courtney Lowery won the individual title as the Lady Cougars finished in third place at the Point University Skyhawk Invitational. The two-day event was played at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, G.A.
The Lady Cougars posted a two-day total of 716 to finish in third place overall. Faulkner University took home the team victory with a score of 681, while Point University finished in second.
Lowery fired back-to-back rounds of two-over par 73 to take the individual medalist honors. The win is the first in over two years for the Lady Cougars.
Ciera Bagley earned her second top-10 finish of the season with a two-round score of 162. The senior shot 10-over par 81 in both rounds of the tournament.
Shelby Banta shot third for CSU ending with a total of 174 after rounds of 89 and 85 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
Courtney Jacquay and Brianna Henthorn carded their best rounds of the season playing in the final two spots for the Lady Cougars.
Columbus State’s next tournament will be the Samford University Intercollegiate on March 23-24, 2015. The event will be played at the Hoover Country Club in Hoover, A.L.
