ROSWELL, GA, May 2, 2016– Shawn Koch, PGA director of instruction at Country Club of the South in Alpharetta, and Brian Puterbaugh, PGA teaching professional from The Hooch in Johns Creek worked overtime to win the Club Car Senior-Junior Championship Presented by The PGA Tour at Ansley Golf Club just north of downtown Atlanta.
Koch and Puterbaugh carded a round of eleven-under par 61 to earn a spot in the playoff against PGA teaching professionals Craig Stevens of Brookstone Golf & Country Club in Acworth and Jeff Fraiser from Chicopee Woods Golf Course in Gainesville. The playoff went on for five holes, concluding when Puterbaugh made an eight-foot birdie putt on hole 1 to give himself and Koch their first title in the Senior-Junior Championship as a team.
The Georgia PGA is one of the 41 Sections of the PGA of America. Its membership includes nearly 850 PGA professionals working at over 265 golf courses, clubs, retail stores, and ranges throughout the state. Additionally, more than 20 Georgia PGA members compete on one of the PGA Tours.
