KENNESAW, G.A. – Kennesaw State women’s golf head coach Rhyll Brinsmead has announced the signing of Savitree Thavong (Prachinburi, Thailand/ Prachinrasadornamrung School) to a National Letter of Intent, it was made official on Wednesday (Nov. 19th, 2014)
Thavong will join the Owls for the 2015-16 school year.
“I am ecstatic to announce the addition of Savitree to our 2015 class,” said Brinsmead. “I was able to watch her play last year and was very impressed with her overall talent and game. Savitree (Mede) has represented Thailand on their national team and has competed in the highest level Asian and international tournaments. Her results speak for themselves; she has the ability to go low and will be a huge asset to our program. She is also a wonderful student and well-rounded individual from a great family. I could not be more excited about our 2015 class.”
A two-year member of the Thailand National Team, Thavong earned runner-up honors in the 2011 Taiwan Ladies Amateur, as well as finishing third in the 2012 Thailand Ladies Open (73-72-73). She has collected top eight finishes at the 2011 Singha Thailand Ladies Amateur (75-70-74), the 2012 Malaysian Amateur Open (71-70-73), the 2013 Singapore Ladies Amateur Open (74-72-77) and the 22nd Singha Thailand Ladies Amateur Championship (69-70-73).
