AUBURN, Ala. – The final round of the 2024 NCAA Auburn Regional treated the Owls far better then the previous two days but their season finalized with an 11th place finish Wednesday afternoon.
Leading the pack was Lara Jecnik as she posted the lone under-par score of the Owls’ tournament with a 70 in round three. It was the best score any Owl put up by six strokes. The senior birdied three of the last five holes. Her score was top five among round three scores. Jecnik tallied only two bogies to go along with four birdies and 12 pars. Jecnik ended with the lowest tournament score on the team with a 229, landing in the top 30.
Today’s next best score was Bella Kil as she accrued a 76 round score, the second time she scored a 76 in the tournament. She birdied the first hole of the day. Kil carded a 233 over three days
Closely behind her was Alessandra Nagayo with a 77, the best score of the regional for the freshman. Nagayo birdied the second hole of the back nine. Her three round total stood at 236.
Nyah Kelly scored a 79, the fourth Owls to score below 80, the first time they have done so in the tournament. Kelly earned a 238 tournament score, still landing in the top 50.
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman carded an 88 in round three after tallying a birdie on the first hole of the day.
What’s Next
Kennesaw State was unable to burst into the top five of the field as the NCAA Regional marks the end of the Owls’ season. Senior Bella Kil, Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman and Lara Jecnik all turned in their final performances for the Owls.
