Roswell’s Jessica Haigwood scored a dominating victory in the Judson Collegiate Invitational, played at Country Club of Roswell in conjunction with the LPGA Legends Pro-Am.
Haigwood, coming off a successful freshman season at Augusta State, finished with a 7-under 206 total over 54 holes, nine shots in front of runners-up Samantha Postillion of Illinois and Zoe Brake of Ohio State.
Sarah Brown of Central Arkansas shot 66 the first day to lead Haigwood by five strokes, but Haigwood matched Brown’s 66 the next day to open a 5-shot lead after 36 holes, as Brown came back with a 76.
After recording seven birdies in the second round, Haigwood added six more birdies the final day, and her lead reached double figures before she bogeyed the last two holes for a 69.
Postillion shot 1-under 70 the final day to finish 2nd at 2-over 215, with Brake carding scores of 71-73-71. Wofford’s Lauren Dunbar and Furman’s Taylor Totland tied for 4th at 215, with Brown closing with a 77 to tie for 6th at 219 with Megan Theiss of UNC-Wilmington, who shot a final round 68.
Cumming’s Isabella Skinner, a UGA signee, was 8th at 220 with scores of 71-74-75. Tournament host Lauren Judson of Roswell, who recently completed her college career at Southern Mississippi, shot 74 in both the first and last rounds and tied for 21st at 231.
