HARTFORD, Wis. – The Augusta University men’s golf team finished the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills in 15th place after 54 holes of play at Erin Hills Golf Club.
The Marquette Intercollegiate, site of the 117th US Open, was a three-day event with a par-72, 7,722-yard format. Texas A&M was victorious by 11 strokes to win the team title 2-over par after shooting two 2-under on Tuesday. UCLA shot 13-over to take second, host Marquette grabbed third (+15), Florida State fourth (+23), and Michigan State fifth (+30) for the top teams out of 15.
Florida State’s Harry Ellis and Marquette’s Austin Kendziorski shared medalist honors at 3-under par. The top of the individual leaderboard was tightly contested with fifth and first place only separated by three strokes.
Second-year Jaguar, Gustav Andersson, led the team in a tie for 27th overall (+9), senior Broc Everett came in at 31st (+10), and freshman Alex Shead signed for 19-over to take a tie for 67th. Freshmen Laken Hinton and Olof Gunnarsson finished close in the results, with Hinton ending in 85th and Gunnarsson 86th.
