JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – The Augusta University women’s golf team finished 11th in the Ladies Fall Intercollegiate at Atlanta Athletic Club on Sunday morning. Round three was suspended due to inclement weather and the tournament was decided by the first two rounds of 36 holes.
The Jaguars end their fall schedule and return in 2018 with their fifth-straight trip to Puerto Rico. Head Coach Caroline Hegg’s crew returns Feb. 11-13 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue, in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Kennesaw State and host No. 33 Louisville were named co-champions, while Coastal Carolina’s Malene Krolboll Hansen was the individual champion after shooting even par in both rounds.
KSU and Louisville finished 20-over par to take the title, No. 15 Illinois took third (+25), Georgia fourth (+29), and Indiana fifth (+30) in the 13-team field.
Augusta sophomore’s Linda Lundqvist and Charlotte Alran finished tied for 32nd at 13-over par, Cecilia Diez-Moliner tied for 40th (+14), and senior Maggie Ashmore and freshman Teresa Diez-Moliner shared a tie for 60th (+23).
