ATHENS, Ga. — Three Augusta University women’s golfers are competing in the annual Liz Murphy Collegiate hosted by the University of Georgia. Sara Adams, Zoe Pinillos and Marine Legentil are in the field and have wrapped up 36 holes of the 54 hole tournament. The final round will be held Wednesday at the UGA Golf Course.
On a day when only three players broke par, Adams is the low Jag after firing rounds of 74-76 and is six-over par, in a tie for 15th place. In her first round, Adams had just a pair of bogies to go along with 16 pars. Then, in round two, she carded a pair of birdies to go along with four bogies and one double-bogey for her final score. She will start the final round just two shots out of the top 10.
Pinillos is in a tie for 30th at eight-over par. She opened the tournament with a 78 but then rebounded with a 74 in round two. In the second round, she rolled home three birdie putts and was one-under on the front nine, her last nine of the day.
For Legentil, she went 77-79 and is +12. She carded three birdies in the two rounds.
On the team front, Georgia Southern is the leader after the opening day.
The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in Athens.
