ORLANDO, Fl. — Three Augusta University men’s golfers competed in the Orlando International Amateur at Mission Inn Golf Resort with Stefan Jacobs shining brightly with a third place finish.
The field consisted of over 100 amateurs playing three rounds in Orlando. Besides Jacobs, Mason Fundingsland and Ryan Davidson also teed it up.
Jacobs fired rounds of 71-70-70 for a -4 total, good enough for a tie for third place. He registered eight birdies in the tournament and finished just three shots off the winning score posted by Mingbo Jiang. Jacobs has been the top Augusta golfer during the fall portion of the collegiate schedule. The junior was a first team Al Conference in the Southland Conference a year ago and finished second in the conference championship in 2024.
Fundingsland missed the cut by two shots with rounds of 77 and 72 while Davidson posted rounds of 74 and 81.
The Augusta Universtiy golf team starts the spring season March 3 and 4 at the Battle of Briar’s Creek in Charleston, S.C.
