FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Jaguar women’s golf team finished in ninth place out of 17 teams in the three-round event at the Mason Rudolph Championship on the Vanderbilt Legends Club on Sunday afternoon (September 20th, 2015).
GRU Augusta women’s golf commenced their first three-day event of the 2015-16 season on Friday where the Jags finished round one in ninth place. The Jaguars began the third and final round at 10-over par in 10th place and Augusta ended in ninth place at 19-over par.
Alabama led after round one and the Crimson Tide outlasted the field to win the event at 16-under par. Northwestern took second, Georgia third, LSU and Virginia tied for fourth, and Houston took sixth.
Jags junior Eunice Yi shot 71, 70, and 73 and finish the best for GRU Augusta in a tie for seventh overall. Josefine Nyqvist places next for the Jags as she ended tied for 24th and Jessica Haigwood ended even in 36th.
Teresa Caballer Hernani took 71st and Sonya Knebel a tie for 80th to complete the Jags’ starting five.
Northwestern is second, Georgia and Virginia are tied for third, Auburn fifth, Louisville and LSU are tied for sixth, UCF eighth, GRU Augusta ninth, Michigan State tenth, Vanderbilt 11th, Middle Tennessee State 12th, Baylor 13th, Tulane 14th, Houston 15th, South Carolina 16th, and Yale 17th.
Augusta tees off at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C., on Sept. 25-27.
