New London, N.C. – The Georgia Tech men’s team rolled to their fourth consecutive ACC title Sunday at Old North State Club, finishing at 27-under 837; that was only slightly behind Tech’s record-breaking score of 33 under from last season. This year, the Jackets shot 18-under 270 on the first day and were 32 under after a second-round 274 before shooting 5-over 293 Sunday. Still, it was enough to finish seven shots ahead of runner-up Virginia and 10 ahead of Florida State. Virginia Tech and Clemson tied for fourth at 7-under 857, followed by Duke in sixth at 2-under 862.
Virginia’s Ben Rusch won the individual title at 10-under 206, followed by Wake Forest’s Lee Bedford (207) and Virginia Tech’s Blake Redmond (208).
Although Georgia Tech didn’t get the individual title as well, the Jackets placed four players in the top 10, led by Anders Albertson in a tie for fourth at 7-under 207. He was joined by teammates Richy Werenski, Bo Andrews and Ollie Schneiderjans in a tie for seventh. James White (T-16) also finished in the top 20.
It was Georgia Tech’s 14th ACC title overall.
