STATESBORO, Ga.– Led by top 20 finishes from Mahina Leveau and Emma Berlin, the Georgia State women’s golf team finished in seventh place at the Strutter Gus Invitational on Monday afternoon.
After Round 2 was suspended by darkness on Sunday, the Panthers finished the round on Monday morning shooting 319, before closing the event with a final round 311 in the afternoon.
Leveau led the Panthers with a tie for 12th at 18-over par, while Berlin led the Panthers with a final round 76 to finish tied for 17th at 19-over par. Berlin led the field in Par 3 scoring at 1-under par, the only player in the field to average under par on the Par 3’s.
The 11-team field battled wet conditions throughout the three-round event at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course. The field broke 300 just once and only three individuals shot better than 10-over par during the two-day event.
Seminole State (FL) took home the team title by one stroke over host Georgia Southern, while Jacksonville State’s Ana Perez Altuna earned low medalist honors.
