DULUTH, Ga. – Led by a pair of even par 72’s from seniors Josh Edgar and Severin Soller, the Georgia State men’s golf team shot a final round 3-over 291 to finish in eighth place at the ninth annual Autotrader Collegiate Classic at Berkeley Hills Country Club.
Senior Ashton Poole led the Panthers for the 54-hole event shooting a final round 2-over 74 to finish the two-day event at even par and tied for 17th.
Seniors Josh Edgar and Severin Soller each shot rounds of 72 on Tuesday to represent the low score for the Panthers. Edgar finished the event tied for 26th at 3-over par, while Soller tied for 42nd at 6-over par.
Using a final round 5-under 283, James Madison earned a five-stroke win at 20-under par. Lipscomb came in second place at 15-under par, followed by USC Upstate in third-place at 3-under par. Boston College came in fourth-place at 1-under par, with Davidson rounding out the top five at 1-over par.
Georgia State also played four players as individuals. Junior Owen Sertl shot a final round 72 to finish tied for 35th at 5-over par, while sophomore David Li tied for 54th at 9-over par after a final round 73. Junior Harry White shot 75 on Tuesday to finish tied for 63rd at 12-over par, with Mac Thompson rounding out the individuals with a final round 87 that left him 30-over par and in 77th place.
Georgia State will return to the course for the final event of the fall at the White Sands Intercollegiate at the Ocean Club Golf Club in Paradise Island, Bahamas, Nov. 1-3.
