ATLANTA, Ga. – PGA of America Teaching Professional, Tim Weinhart of Heritage Golf links came from three back to win by five with a six-under par 66 Final Round at the Georgia Senior PGA Professional Championship. The tournament took place at Sky Valley Resort on July 15-16. This served as a qualifier for the National Senior PGA Professional Championship in Oregon at Sunriver Resort on September 26-29.
Todd Ormsby, PGA Director of Instruction of Canongate 1 Golf Club got off to a hot start in Round One as he carded a seven-under par 65 to lead all players going into day two. Ormsby did not have an answer to Weinhart’s five-under back nine as he would finish that side, and the day, at two-over par 74.
Weinhart along with Ormsby, Todd Sapere, Head PGA Professional at Ohoopee Match Club, and Mark Anderson, PGA Life Member of Brunswick Country Club will head to Oregon this fall. Paul Claxton, PGA Director of Golf at Willow Lake Golf Club will also compete in Oregon as he is exempt from winning the National event in 2021.
