ATLANTA, GA — After 10 hours of rain delays over four days the 70th Georgia Open Presented by L&J Golf, LAYR and E-Z-GO contested at The Ford Field and River Club in Richmond Hill finally crowned a champion. Mini-tour professional Matt Nagy of Buena Vista fired a closing round of two-under par 70 to win the Championship. Nagy finished at 15-under par 273 for the week and collected the first-place check of $6,500.
Tying for second was two-time Georgia Open Champion Jay McLuen of Forsyth and Emmanuel Kountakis of Augusta, both finishing at 12-under par 276. Rounding out the top five were Low Amateur Carter Pendley of Dalton and Defending Champion Jonathan Keppler of Marietta, both finishing at 10-under par 278. Pendley, a rising junior on the Clemson University Golf Team started the tournament with a 6-over par 78 in the first round. He proceeded to shoot 66-69-65 over the final three rounds to shoot 16-under par on his final three rounds.
